Everybody has had problems whatever the phone or watch model and the
advice provided by Audible themselves is contradictory. There is a
suggestion to turn off WIFI on the watch as the App uses
You will have to get Holy Ghost! That is a very good one too!

phone which has an APPLE smart battery pack was right next to the watch
which was on the charger.

I got a 1.5-hour book onto the watch when it was plugged in overnight. I
couldn't transfer a 9-hour book, though. Transferring is slow and likely to
fail, so your best bet is to do short books. And nothing will transfer unless
the watch is on the charger.
