You can’t turn passcode off if you want to use Touch Id. Passcode is your fail
save, after all, what happens if for some reason the fingerprint reader doesn’t

If you turn off password you cannot use fingerprinting. Good luck with
fingerprinting, for me it never has worked. Probably typed them all off after
38 years of medical transcription.
I have tried many times and finally gave up for now, too many other things to
worry about at the
