RE: getting speech directions in Maps without VO turned on

2017-05-07 Thread Richard Turner
Yes, turning off vibration there does put the beep back, but it also disables
all vibrations. So, if you mute your phone, even though you may have “vibrate
on silent” on, it won’t vibrate.
That obviously is up to each person which they prefer.

We worked our way through several checklists and navigation is now speaking-
yeah! I have read since yesterday that SIRI does not beep in newer versions
when home is pressed; but that it can be made to do so in
settings/general/accessibility/vibration- then turn vibration off. This is
supposed to put the beep back in SIRI when the home button is pressed. There is
a youtube demonstrating this ;)

Is she putting in a destination? I don’t think she will get any feedback unless
she puts in where she wants to go.
Also, if Voiceover is not running there is no tone to indicate SIRI is
listening.

If VoiceOver is not on, the home button makes no sound.
That is normal.

In Settings, Maps, he should open the Driving and Navigation section.
In their he will find the options for Navigation voice volume: no voice, low

There is also a setting to pause spoken audio during navigation prompts which
