Re: Resuming a program on Netflix

2019-01-20 Thread Lisa Belville

Hi, Bill.

The heading you want is Continue watching.  It's on the main page of the
Netflix app.  When you re-open the app, you are on the home tab, this is
like the main screen of the app.  sections are arranged by heading, and
you can use the rotor to select headings and navigate the sections with
them.  The exact phrase you're looking for is Continue watching for, and
then the profile name is listed for that program.  For example, the
heading for my Continue Watching list says "Continue Watching for LisaB
Heading.

The programs you've been watching are listed under this heading.
Double-tap on the title you want and the show should resume where you
left off.

To add things to your list, find a title and double-tap on it.  A new
screen opens with information about the program such as the year
released, the length, and various other credits.  You can swipe right
past each block of information until you land on the Add To My list
button.  Double-tap this, and the button changes to Remove From My List.

To exit this screen do a four finger double-tap toward the top of the
screen and you should find a Close Button.  Double-tap on this and
you're back in the list of shows.

You can use the heading navigation to find your list as well as shows
you've previously watched and replay them if you want.

I hope this clarifies things.  Netflix has redesigned their app several
times since I first started using it and frankly the layout isn't as
intuitive as it probably could be.

Hope this helps.

I'm using the Netflix app on Android, but on my home page I have a
heading that's called "Continue watching for Christopher". Note this is
on the home tab and not the profile tab. To add a show to my list, I
just bring up the description for the show, and there's a toggle button
at the top of the screen that adds it or removes it from my list. I'm
not sure if the iPhone app would be the same, but I'd think it would be
similar.

Also, if you can find the program, such as using the search option, when
you play, it'll automatically resume playing where you last stopped. To
make sure I can always find something I've been watching or would like
