Andy, I had a similar situation today.  Long story short they did credit 
the full amount to my account.  I just verified that it was returned.  I 
did the text chat at 12:15 PM my time and as of five to nine tonight the 
funds were restored.



I agree with you about the debiting, though.  They should do the 
confirmation first before applying charges.

Debbie, interestingly enough I had a similar experience this afternoon.  
I placed an order and never got any confirmation message from Door Dash 
on my phone.  Naturally, my account was debited for the full amount.  I 
did get an Email saying the order had been placed, but nothing from a 
push notification, which is how I usually communicate with the app.  
After an hour the order was still in the being confirmed by the 
restaurant phase.  I found a place to make order adjustments and managed 
to use their text chat and got the order canceled, though I won't know 
for sure if this works until next week.



The name of the person I was chatting with wasn't a professional or 
official sounding name.  Now I'm worried that something is going on with 
Door Dash.  I've used it several times with no problems and plenty of 
notifications regarding my order, but today was a completely different 
experience.

The only issue I have with Door Dash is that they charge your card immediately 
when you place the order.  Recently I had a situation where I placed an order 
and a few minutes later got a notification from Door Dash saying that the 
restaurant could not fill my order, no explanation as to why.  They also said 
that my card had already been charged the full amount, and they would credit 
the charge back, but it would take a week to do so.  I think that they 
shouldn't devit the card until the restaurant verifies the order.

that I haven't ordered from before.  The familiarity speeds up the process when 
you really want to order.  I wonder if you can set up a cart in advance so when 
you really want to order, you can do it faster.  I do know how to retrieve a

I often do this as well, especially when contemplating ordering from a place 
that I haven't ordered from before.  The familiarity speeds up the process when 
you really want to order.  I wonder if you can set up a cart in advance so when 
you really want to order, you can do it faster.  I do know how to retrieve a 
past order and order it again.

Debbie, I just opened the door dash app and it said delivering to and it has my 
address so I'm assuming what you are experiencing may be a local issue.
