The way I've found around the refresh problem is to do the vo-bypass gesture.
Double-tap and hold a part of the screen that has text content and then flick
one finger down.

When using the TV Guide app, I can scroll down through the listings using a
three-finger swipe up, but when attempting to reverse direction with a
three-finger swipe down, the app says refreshing content and won't scroll.
How can I work around this issue?
