Like you, the newest message is near the bottom of my screen, so I just do a
four finger tap near the bottom of the screen, and then swipe left to go to the
newest message.
This is also a quick way of getting to the edit field if you are wanting to
send a message.

Hi,
Have you tried doing a four-finger single tap at the top of the screen? You
should land on the edit button. Now flick right a couple of times, and then you
should be on your newest one.

Hi: I find on occasions, when I go into my messages old messages are
appearing and to get to the newest ones, I have to flick through the screen.
Is there a keystroke to get to the most recent message without going through
that? Thanks.
