If you are concerned about wearing out the home button, which I think is a
legitimate concern, turn on assistive touch. It is in accessibility, under the
physical and motor heading, or ask searie to turn it on. Then, when you tap
assistive touch, it, among other things, puts a home button

This is true, but when I tried assistive touch out a while back, I lost triple
click home to turn on/off voiceover.
