Actually, I have been using Google maps very successfully during the three-week
road trip. My wife, who is cited, has been the driver. I have been the
navigator. When the app opens, type on the search icon. When the search box
opens in the typewriter keyboard exposes itself, simply type in

A quick step by step walk through of how you set a start and end point
for a route would be helpful. voice directions would be nice but aren't

offers turn by turn driving directions and will offer turn by turn
walking directions in iOS 7.
