Re: need to know where the options key is on the bluetooth keyboard

2018-04-09 Thread Arlene
Richard, I only sent you the list to show you what I had, so you could tell
whether I had the whole list and if there were any additions to the list or any
additional lists that I didn't have that would be helpful. Thanks also for
reminding us about the practice mode, since that helped to find out more about
the keys. Thanks again.

Ah, VO is a defined key combination for these things, and so goes in the manual
as vo-right arrow, vo-left arrow and in this case,
vo-space. The vo combination can be changed, but current combination is good.

Arlene,
Do you not have the list of commands?
Control-Options-spacebar is the same as a single finger double tap, so to
activate a button, you would do control-options right
arrow to get to the button, then control-options-spacebar 'to activate the
button.
If you are not able to enter text in an edit box, then Quick Nav is on. So when
you land on the edit box, do the
control-options-spacebar so VoiceOver says Text Field, is editing. Then you
should be good to go.
With a keyboard, you should seldom need to touch the phone.

Hi

You can turn the help mode by doubletapping with four fingers. then just preass
each key to hear it's function.

There's a navigation mode one can switch on using up/down arrow keys together,
and there's another related combination (if Enter
doesn't do it) to effect a touch or double-tap.
Used to love all these things, but terrible out of practice now.

That is often an FN key for shifting other standard keys to do something else.
Laptops use the idea when they allow use of JKL
and same 3 above and below as a number keypad, when keyboard itself hasn't got
one. So I suggest that key can or would be used to
achieve something similar.

I'll call it FN for the moment, so press fn-l in practice mode and see what it
says.

Richard, this is an apple ipad mini keyboard. Now we know which key is the
options key. We found in the practice mode that the fifth
key left key is spacebar, the 4th is command, 3rd is options,2nd control, and
we don't know what the first left key is. If you know
what that is please let me know since it isn't speaking what it is in the
practice mode. Thanks. I'm not sure of the brand right
now, but I'll find out. We purchased at walmart.

Re: need to know where the options key is on the bluetooth keyboard

2018-04-07 Thread Richard Turner
Arlene,
Do you not have the list of commands?
Control-Options-spacebar is the same as a single finger double tap, so to
activate a button, you would do control-options right arrow to get to the
button, then control-options-spacebar 'to activate the button.
If you are not able to enter text in an edit box, then Quick Nav is on. So when
you land on the edit box, do the control-options-spacebar so VoiceOver says
Text Field, is editing. Then you should be good to go.
With a keyboard, you should seldom need to touch the phone.

While I have the list of commands, with typing on the bluetooth keyboard, we
