I prefer voice dream reader. I like the fact I can use Neospeech with it.
It works great for listening to old time radio shows on my ipad mini.

Someone may have brought this up already, but try read to go. I use it and it
works just fine. You can download and read bookshare books on the app with no
problem. HTH.

It can read pretty much anything, even mp3 or daisy audio books, and you can
download right from Bookshare

there is the actual bookshare app called read to go and there is voice dream
reader. voice dream reader is cheaper. you can also purchase additional
voices.
