The calendars have no special features, they are for categorizing. I put things like doctors appointments on my home calendar, and client visits on my work calendar, for instance. It lets you keep different events separate, so you can look at only work events for instance. You can also create

Cool. Is there a way to only have a list of your appointments? rather than the day or month views? In older versions of the calendar back in IOS 5 I think, you could switch to list and only see your appointments with no days or months being shown for example now, I hate scrolling through the

Not as such, unfortunately. You can, however, get a list view by hitting the search button, and not typing anything. The screen will focus on the nearest appointment, so be sure to touch there first. If you just flick from the top of the screen, Voiceover will go in order and start reading
