A few years ago i briefly used the app zumocast but it is not in the
appstore anymore.
I have a big external harddrive with lot of audio and video and music
that i want to be able to use with my iphone when away from home on
another wifi network (with use i mean listen to).

Try Tonido which may do just what you want. You first of all set it up
via the desktop app then you download the iPhone app from the app store.
Log in with your credentials set up on the desktop app and you should by
