As for the charging it means you probably have nightstand mode on, turn this
off in settings and make sure raise to wake is turned off and it will not do
this. You can even turn off to wake it by turning the digital crown up, turn
this off and tap to wake and it will only wake up if you actually press the
digital crown.

Speaking of watches and questions,

How can I get my watch to stop talking constantly?

I mean, when its charging, it seems like when it hears a sound it starts
telling me the time, or when the knob on the side remotely gets touched by a
jacket, or something brushes it, it starts yakking.

Its quite annoying.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Carol,

The easiest thing is to ask Siri to start the kind of workout you want.
However, with Watch OS 5, the watch will usually detect when you've started
a workout if you forget to tell it ahead of time. It will make a guess as to
the kind of workout you are doing, and you can accept that guess or pick the
right kind. It can also detect when you've stopped working out and ask if
you want it to stop recording one

Best,
Anna

RE: ANOTHER QUESTION ON THE WATCH

2018-11-11 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I could see how any other workout but an outdoor walk would kick in sooner, for
a walk it is most difficult to figure out whether it's an outdoor walk for
exercise or just a walk where you go from point A to point B although Apple
could maybe lower the threshold a bit since I really have to walk fast for it
to kick in. I'm not a slow walker, but even walking normally for me will not
trigger it after 15 minutes, I have to deliberately walk fast.

I have also heard that not asking for 15 minutes is intentional. If I'm going

I find it the other workouts to start after 15 minutes of brisk walking as
well. What you do is you tell Siri to start an out door walk.

RE: ANOTHER QUESTION ON THE WATCH

2018-11-10 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Anna, maybe the newer watches are better at this, but my series 2 watch will
only detect an outdoor walk after 15 minutes and I have to walk quite fast for
this to work, if I walk normally it doesn't kick in. I read that this is done
intentionally so it doesn't necessarily ask if you are working out if all you
do is walk to the store which is 5 minutes down the street.

Hi Carol,

The easiest thing is to ask Siri to start the kind of workout you want.
However, with Watch OS 5, the watch will usually detect when you've started a
workout if you forget to tell it ahead of time. It will make a guess as to the
kind of workout you are doing, and you can accept that guess or pick the right
kind. It can also detect when you've stopped working out and ask if you want it
to stop recording one.

Best,
Anna
