Thanks for the information about walter2 I am in Canada, I don’t think I’ll be
using that really often, someone also suggested to me
to use the Apple iTunes store to get ringtones. Is that easy to use and
accessible?

RE: Transferring ringtones from windows7 computer to iPhone

2020-11-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Absolutely true, everybody decides how they want to do something, but I am just
saying that if pretty much all you want to do is to transfer ringtones to your
phone then iTunes will do this and it is not a very difficult task.
As for iTunes not transferring ringtones, I have not experienced this before.
But I also admit that I'm not crazy about ringtones to the point where I have
hundreds on my phone, I made a few from songs I like using iTunes and I maybe
have 10 or 20 short tones for things like texts, emails and other notifications
which I found over the years and like.

In my experience Waltr2 has transferred tones to iPhones that iTunes has failed
to transfer.

Also, assuming it is legal for you to do so, Waltr2 will allow you to transfer
tones to friend’s iPhones without the complications that iTunes impose.

It’s all about personal choice and what may suit one person may not be suitable

2020-11-12 Thread albert brown
I have used walt2 for putting ringtones on my iPhone. It is important to
download the normal itunes, not the windows store app. And make sure your
Iphone is plugged in to the computer while using walt2. You can get the proper
itunes from. Www.ninite.com.

Right, I forgot about this, not sure, however, if iTunes is on the machine but
it crashes if Waltr2 would work or not. But I am with you Richard, I'd rather
not spend money for something which one should be able to fix by uninstalling
iTunes and reinstalling it and it's really not a difficult thing to do.

RE: Transferring ringtones from windows7 computer to iPhone

2020-11-12 Thread Richard Turner
I think what Klyph wants to confirm is the accessibility of Waltr2.
I don't use it, so cannot answer that direct question. I assume it is or
people wouldn't be recommending it, but there you go.

Great tag line by the way.

I use waltr2 and it definitely requires iTunes to be installed but not running
at the same time though, either way, running waltr2 will automatically shutdown
itunes;hth

Re: Transferring ringtones from windows7 computer to iPhone

2020-11-12 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Waltr2 works without iTunes having to be installed.

>From their site:

Drag-n-drop any Music, Ringtones Videos, PDF & ePUB files into any Apple device
without iTunes (& no extra apps). With WALTR 2 you can forget worrying about
proper format support because it converts unsupported formats on-the-fly. This
makes it the best iTunes alternative to help you safely transfer files from
Computer to any iPhone, iPad or iPod.

It works just fine even if I Tunes is on the computer.

I believe Waltr2 requires iTunes to be on the machine and presumably working?
I'd be sure about that before spending $40.

RE: Transferring ringtones from windows7 computer to iPhone

2020-11-10 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I tried this program and found it no easier than using iTunes, in fact, it's
really not difficult to do with iTunes. O f course you would have to first
reinstall iTunes since of course it won't work if it crashes, but that should
be something which can be fixed.
