You can copy your music to the automatically add to iTunes while ITunes is
off. Then when you
open ITunes it will place the files in the necessary buffer. Or you can copy
and paste right
IN my case, on my ipod touch I use the sink selected playlists option.

It's true that itunes is accessible. The biggest problem is, if your mp3's
have no tag info, it creates a big problem on how your music is organized.
It took me a while to have to fix these mp3's
from lp's.

Use VLC for iPhone. If you do it this way, VLC will keep your music the way
you already have it. If you use iTunes, it's probably not going to stay the
