When you access the paper that you want to save to your favorites by double
tapping on it, look for the tab at the bottom that says Star Hollow. Double
tap on this button, it will then say Star On, this means it has saved to
your favorites. You can easily access your favorites when you first open the
app by double tapping on the Favorites button, which is right under the
Browse button.

2013-02-13 Thread Tom Lange

Hi,
As I said before, I really like this app and it's a keeper. On the
downside, , though, I've found that VoiceOver won't automatically switch
languages for some foreign papers, but I'm guessing that the reason is that
language tags in the paper itself are improperly coded or nonexistent. To
work around that problem, add that language to the language rotor, select it
and you're in business.

Hi Robert,

There is a nav back button on the bottom left that will bring you back to
the list of articles when you double tap it. When you are finished with
that paper, the done button at the bottom right will bring you back to the
list of papers for that state, and the home button at the top will bring you
back to the home page of the app.

It sure is a very nice app indeed.

would-be cop who went on a killing spree, and the latest developments
 have
taken place in Big Bear, in the mountains around L.A., I was able to
 bring
up the Grizzly, Big Bear's local paper to see what it was saying. Very
 cool
indeed to read the latest coverage, grim as it is.

I also glanced at some European newspapers, accessed a Chinese newspaper
and one in Bermuda. . I don't read German, nor do I know any Chinese
dialects, but it seemss neat that VoiceOver seems to do a pretty good job

 of
 language switching on the fly.

I have students who, if they're at all interested in current events in
their country of origin, will love this app.
 It's a keeper.

Thank you for sharing this information. This app will likely replace my
Canadian newspapers app which is no longer accessible. I have checked three
or four Canadian newspapers and only found problems with the Toronto Star.
It was not sorted very well by sections. The other thing I have had
difficulty with is exiting an article and returning back to the same section
that I was in. If anybody can help with that, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Re: Accessible App. Free Today. Newspapers

2013-02-12 Thread Tom Lange

Hi,
Very nice catch indeed. I installed it, took it for a spin and was amazed
that I had access to over 6000 newspapers from all over the world.

Since the latest news locally here in Los Angeles is about the rogue
would-be cop who went on a killing spree, and the latest developments have
taken place in Big Bear, in the mountains around L.A., I was able to bring
up the Grizzly, Big Bear's local paper to see what it was saying. Very cool
indeed to read the latest coverage, grim as it is.

I also glanced at some European newspapers, accessed a Chinese newspaper and
one in Bermuda. . I don't read German, nor do I know any Chinese dialects,
but it seemss neat that VoiceOver seems to do a pretty good job of language
switching on the fly.

I have students who, if they're at all interested in current events in their
country of origin, will love this app.

It's a keeper.

Tom

Re: Accessible App. Free Today. Newspapers

2013-02-12 Thread Robert Fenton
Thank you for sharing this information. This app will likely replace my
Canadian newspapers app which is no longer accessible. I have checked three or
four Canadian newspapers and only found problems with the Toronto Star. It was
not sorted very well by sections. The other thing I have had difficulty with is
exiting an article and returning back to the same section that I was in. If
anybody can help with that, I would appreciate it. Thanks everybody

Bob Fenton
