Re: Accessing zoom breakout rooms with voiceover on an iPhone

2020-05-22 Thread Deb Cook Lewis
Depending on how the host creates the breakout rooms will determine
whether or not you have to do anything. But the doing is minimal
regardless.
On your other problem, go into the Zoom settings and turn off the
audio indication and also displaying when people come. My Iphone is
completely silent during zoom meetings without turning off speech or
leaving the zoom window. This is all controlled in Zoom settings.
Finally, in windows I really do recommend bryan Hartgen's scripts
which shut it all up. But again, actually configuring the client is
your friend because zoom gives you a lot of control.

Re: Accessing zoom breakout rooms with voiceover on an iPhone

2020-05-22 Thread Joy Cyr
I've attended two meetings where break out rooms wer eused. Perhaps it has
something to do with how the host handles the set up, in one meeting I did
indeed need to do nothing. In the other Voice over read out that I had been
assigned to break out room one and had to tap the button to join the room.

I've found that going to the home screen solves the problem of having voice
over reading incoming messages etc. while allowing me to open the app
switcher and return to the Zoom screen quickly if I do need to interact or
check something.

I haven't been able to use it on the Mac and after my first experience when I
was unable to stop the chat feed being read out I must admit I haven't tried
very hard.

Re: Accessing zoom breakout rooms with voiceover on an iPhone

2020-05-22 Thread Wayne Merritt
Mary,
Speaking generally, only the meeting's host can manage and assign
people to break out rooms. If you are a co-host, you do not have the
ability. I have been using Zoom a lot for work, and this week we've
been doing a lot of the break out rooms. I haven't done it on the
iPhone, and probably won't since I usually Zoom when at work. I would
assume it works much the same way on iOS that it does on the computer.
All of this is mute unless you are the host though. If you are
attending a meeting and will be assigned to a break out room, there's
nothing you have to do other than show up at the appointed time. The
host handles everything else.

Be well,
Wayne Merritt
