Re: pedometer
There are bluetooth devices from FitBit and others that you can put in your pocket or clip to a sleeve or pant leg. They'll work with the FitBit app, but I'm not sure they integrate with other fitness apps. On 4/26/19 2:22 AM, Robert Wright wrote: Thanks I am trying it out now. Re: Pedometer
I can't tell from reading this thread, but the search suggestions aren't the same thing as the search results. If you type a search term into the edit field and start flicking through the search suggestions you may not find something that you will find in the full search results which you get when you press enter or search on the keyboard. Maybe this is why some people are claiming they can't find this app. On 11/11/16 14:27, Paul Richard McGann wrote: thank you, sieghard for helping todd. todd, go to app store, and go to search tab and click, then go back to top and you see search again, then click and type pedometer as that is all and I clicked to enter. it works. you can find pedometer++ when you go through list. so I suggest for your eyes (fingers) to be checked. sincerely, rich *From:* Sieghard Weitzel <mailto:siegh...@live.ca> *Sent:* Friday, November 11, 2016 3:14 PM *To:* viphone@googlegroups.com <mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> *Subject:* RE: Pedometer Todd, From what you write in your message you put a space between Pedometer and the ++, there should not be a spacebut I guess by now this doesn’t matter since several people have posted the direct link to the app. *From:* viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] *On Behalf Of *Todd Patkus *Sent:* Friday, November 11, 2016 11:46 AM *To:* viphone@googlegroups.com *Subject:* RE: Pedometer Rich, I did type “pedometer++” in Search while in app store, yes, and it showed nothing like this. Sieghard, No comment at all. I am not insulting/offending anyone. It is yours and theirs, not me,. I do not need to “argue”. Y’all need to understand the deafblind cutlure! Rich understands this. I suggest you consider how you reply to emails which are direct replies to something you posted and are intended to help you. You posted you couldn’t find “Pedometer ++”. I noticed you put a space between “Pedometer” and “++” and simply pointed this out saying that if you search for “Pedometer++” without a space you find it easily. You then reply with “Let this go” which sounds as if I had sent you 10 emails pointing this out and just wouldn’t stop harassing you. If you continue to do this you will soon get no replies from people as nobody feels like being put down when they are trying to help. Also, replies like “Search on Amazon and you’ll find this” or whatever the wording was you sent as a reply to Vicky’s question about suggestions for good wall chargers does not help, I’m sure Vicky knows how to search Amazon, but if somebody asks for recommendations then replies should contain the name of the product under discussion and what you find good or not good about it. Replying with “Look on Amazon” or why don’t you Google this are just adding to the number of useless posts on the list. We are all here to help each other and sometimes people here ask simple questions which many of us know, sometimes a member may just not be good at searching on Google or Amazon and all they want is a bit of extra help from those of us who are good at it and there is nothing wrong with it, in fact, what is wrong with it is if they get replies like “You can find it on Amazon”. Why not say “Here is what I searched for on Amazon (or Google) and below is a link”, this way maybe the person actually learned something from your reply and is more encouraged to try to search next time. I know that I will probably get a bad reply from you to this email, but I think if you want to be a productive and valued member in this group you need to relax and follow the rules. If you aren’t sure what they are maybe Mark or Cara can repost some of the guidelines which have been posted here from time to time. Pedometer Apps That Work with Locked Screen? was RE: Pedometer App on iOS 8?
Well, I'm showing both Steps and Walking Distance on the Health Dashboard but they both say no data. I usually have my iPhone 5 in my pocket listening to BARD books with the screen locked while I walk. I suspect the phone must be on and active for the Health Pedometer to track anything but when I tried this walking around the house, I still get no steps shown. Can someone confirm if the phone must be unlocked for the Steps app to track? Also, are there any accessible pedometer apps that work while the phone is locked? Thanks. RE: Pedometer Apps That Work with Locked Screen? was RE: Pedometer App on iOS 8?
I think I might have figured out my problem. I normally mention my iPhone version if I think it is relevant to the post but forgot to do so with this thread. I'm running an iPhone 5 and believe I saw a post on another list that indicated that an iPhone 5S or higher was needed to automatically track steps with the pedometer built into the iOS 8 Health app. Can someone confirm this? I tried calling Apple iPhone Support but got someone who was not helpful who suggested I reset my phone. I always know when I have a rep more clueless than me when they trot out that age old remedy. I know that resets are required from time to time but I'm pretty sure that's not the case here. Thanks. Re: Pedometer App on iOS 8?
Hi, It does, mine is working here, but I am not exactly sure what I did. Try adding stteps to the dashboard of the health app and I think that should get it counting your steps. If this doesn't work, let me know and I will investigate further. Cheers, Brett. iTreadmill springs to mind. - Original Message - From: Mark BurningHawk stone_tr...@sbcglobal.net To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2013 6:16 PM Subject: pedometer or distance traveled meter for Ipad? I have an Ipad 3 32G running the latest IOS for Ipad. I know GPS is nonexistent for this unit, and I agree it would probably be impractical, but since apps that are pedometers or odometers, measuring distance traveled irrespective of global position, might there be such a thing for my Ipad 3? I could set it, lock the screen, stow the Pad in my backpack and then just walk, and when I unlocked the screen, I'd have a distance traveled, say, 3.5 miles or 1.3 KM? And, rejoice, rejoice, I will be getting my Iphone in March. *bounce!* YAY • Mark BurningHawk Baxter • AIM, Skype and Twitter: BurningHawk1969 • MSN: burninghawk1...@hotmail.com • My home page: • http://MarkBurningHawk.net/ Mark BurningHawk Skype and Twitter: BurningHawk1969 Home page: Http://MarkBurningHawk.net/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: pedometer or distance traveled meter for Ipad?
I couldn't find Itreadmill, but I did find something called LazyWalk, which has some unlabeled buttons, but which showed me that running up and down my apartment three times with the OtterBox roof on and screen locked, I traveled 85 feet. It's not entirely accessible, but I couldn't find the other one and I was playing so… Mark BurningHawk Skype and Twitter: BurningHawk1969 Home page: Http://MarkBurningHawk.net/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Here's a review of it. Try iTreadmill. However, the screen must remain unlocked. Re: pedometer or distance traveled meter for Ipad?
Okay, col; I don't know why I didn't find it in the aPp store on the pad. I'm not sure how to download an App for the pad on my MBP and then install it on the pad. hmm. Lazy walk is cool but does less than ITreadmill.
