You should first take a backup of your current system just to be safe. You can back up to iCloud. But the better approach is to take an encrypted backup to a Windows computer or a Mac. I have never had to restore from a backup, but I always take a backup before a major update to a new

hi, The only way this wil happen in my experience is if when the alert pops up that a new version of IOS is avalable is if you double tap later and double tap agree to the terms of service it will after ou enter in your passcode update at night between 2-4 A.M. Otherwise IOS does not update
