Re: Please Confirm a VoiceOver Bug in Native iOS 10 Mail App Regarding Threaded View
I heard in a podcast that folks were having this issue. I haven't been able to confirm it because my Uverse AT&T mail is set to imap, meaning that the computer gets it so that the phone doesn't. If I have the computer off, I get the mail. If I haven't read the mail on the phone and then turn on the phone, it's taken away from the phone. -Original Message- From: M. Taylor Sent: Saturday, September 17, 2016 2:36 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Please Confirm a VoiceOver Bug in Native iOS 10 Mail App Regarding Threaded View Hello Everyone, There have been so many posts sent lately that I have lost track so please indulge me in asking for confirmation of a very annoying bug in the native iOS 10 Mail app, regarding the threaded view. Here are my major settings for Mail. Preview, None. Organize by Thread, On. Most Recent Message on Top, Off. Complete Thread, Off. Here are the steps I take to read threads: 1. Open the Mail app. 2. Place focus on a collapsed thread. 3. Select Expand Thread via the VoiceOver Rotor. At this point, the thread expands downward. 4. Now, I single-finger swipe to the right in order to move to the first message listed below the subject line of the thread and, as is expected, the text of the message is read, out by VoiceOver. The problem is that, regardless of the status of the, "Most Recent Message on Top", toggle, the first message just below the thread's subject line is always the most recent post to the thread. As a consequence, if I want to read the original post to a thread, I have to swipe all the way down to the bottom of the list area and reverse swipe back up. Does this make sense and are any of you encountering this issue? Again, thank you for your indulgence on this. Mark -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. Re: Please Confirm a VoiceOver Bug in Native iOS 10 Mail App Regarding Threaded View
Hi Mark, Instead of expanding the thread, double-tap to go into it. Then, the oldest message will be listed first. Make sure the rotor is set to Messages, which it should be automatically, and you can flick down to and read each message easily. Re: Please Confirm a VoiceOver Bug in Native iOS 10 Mail App Regarding Threaded View
Hi, Mark! If I understand this correctly it has some logic to me. I believe what Apple tried to do in iOS 10 version of Mail app is to make mail corespondence look like conversation. Something like iMessages or texts. If ther original messages would be on every single thread it would be a large clutter. I agree finding the original message is now bit hard to find but I can't see better solution. That's I usually don't use threads because it is confusing me with all those multiple levels, different branches, following who answered what and to whom... I'll turn on threading and check out how it works and if I find something I'll let you all know but I hardly consider this a bug. S poštovanjem Gordan Radić 17.9.2016. u 9:36, M. Of course I didn't think you were drunk! knew it was your meds. You were totally fine just sounded a bit off... I will pray the pain subsides a bit.
