Re: Two small features in iOS 9 that I really I'm going to love
Hopefully it will expand to other areas and apps, like Music and Messages, since I can see benefits in those too. This sure beats the pinch gesture though, as well as the quadruple tap to copy the last spoken bit of text. In truth, they could almost drop the other two and concentrate all on this one good method. This I'd use, the others I don't. OOooh, now this is wonderful, and yes, worth an upgrade for this alone. 'Bout time! but better late than never. Ditto. I can't wait to tell my friend about it and even show her. One of the things we could never manage was the pinch gesture, especially me due to my limited coordination. Make sure that Text Selection is selected in the rotor settings. Then, turn the rotor when you are in any text box, reading an Email, on the web with Safari, composing text, anywhere like that it seems; turn the rotor to Text Selection and flick up or down to set the unit you want to select. You have character, word, line, page, or select all, I think. I've not found select all to work that well. But, flick to line for example, then flick right with one finger. Each right flick will select one more line of text. When you have everything you want selected, turn the rotor to edit and flick up or down to the action you want to perform. Ha! I just tried it, and what do you know? It worked! I always thought the edit option had to be present in the rotor in order to be able to select text. Yay! I'm glad I was wrong! Re: Two small features in iOS 9 that I really I'm going to love
In 8, when I have to copy garbage strings, I have VO speak it and then the 3 finger quad tap, but you often get extra junk with it as well that you don't want in there because it literally copies what VO spoke. - Original Message - From: "Mary Otten"To: Sent: Sunday, September 20, 2015 6:49 PM Subject: Two small features in iOS 9 that I really I'm going to love Have you ever had to copy out one of those long garbage letter number passwords and paste it somewhere else? That alone is going to make the text selection feature of iOS 9 a huge timesaver for me. Plus, when I have to reenter my email address or password, as is so common, presto, copy text. Paste done. The other one I'm going to love is that little back button up in the top left of the status line. If you get emails with links, which you follow and read the article, then want to go back to mail, how cool is it that you can just tap that little button and not have to open the app switcher, find the mail app, and return. It's a little thing, but I love it. Mary Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the VIPhone list.
