RE: Upgrade phone now or wait?

2018-04-10 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
According to the rumours there will almost certainly be no more 4 inch phone
like the 5S or SE, the 4.7 inch phones like the iPhone 6S/7/8 will be the new
small phones so all of you who like the SE you probably need to get used to the
idea. Of course nothing is toally written in stone, but the SE is a good phone
so I agree, why not wait the second half of the 12 month upgrade cycle, you'll
get a much better deal on an iPhone 8 after the new phones come out in
September.

Well, if the same cycle holds, we're past the half way point of the next batch
of iPhones dropping in September. If you can hold off on scratching that itch
after your last payment is made for a few months, you can see what new stuff
Apple comes out with or try to score a deal on what will at that time be last
year's model which would be the iPhone 8, 8 Plus or iPhone X.

I would maybe pay off that device and keep it as a second unit just in case you
don't like the 8 as much. I don't know if apple will refresh the SE this year
though

RE: Upgrade phone now or wait?

2018-04-10 Thread joedinero68
I have heard a long time about a refresh of the SE but nothing definitive. So
if you take that off the table and are resigned to the fact that you might have
to carry a phone with a larger form factor I would want to know what kind of
carrots Verizon dangling before I would advise. Personally I would wait until
Black Friday as those are the best deals I have ever seen on the latest models
of iPhones. Last year Sams Club for example had $300 off of a iPhone 8 and $350
off of a iPhone X. I have never really seen anything better throughout the
year.n The other thing to consider is that you are 7 months into the iPhone 8
year and only have a few months til the next incarnation of the iPhone is
available. If I am investing in a new phone I would probably always err on the
side of getting a new one right after the new generation comes out if possible.
Sometimes that is not realistic if a phone is lost or damaged. But in an ideal
world that is what I would do.
