I have heard a long time about a refresh of the SE but nothing definitive. So if you take that off the table and are resigned to the fact that you might have to carry a phone with a larger form factor I would want to know what kind of carrots Verizon dangling before I would advise. Personally I would wait until Black Friday as those are the best deals I have ever seen on the latest models of iPhones. Last year Sams Club for example had $300 off of a iPhone 8 and $350 off of a iPhone X. I have never really seen anything better throughout the year.n The other thing to consider is that you are 7 months into the iPhone 8 year and only have a few months til the next incarnation of the iPhone is available. If I am investing in a new phone I would probably always err on the side of getting a new one right after the new generation comes out if possible. Sometimes that is not realistic if a phone is lost or damaged. But in an ideal world that is what I would do.
