I have a question about multiple computers inside of a lan, being accessed from the WAN. I have 4 computers inside my hame LAN, and would like to be able to access all of them outside the WAN. I know I can change the port numbers on everything, one could be 5900, one 5910 one 5920 and one 5930 is

Mike, 1. If it's possible to have the client initiate the connection, look into VNC viewer's -listen mode with the server making the outbound connection, not you "dialling in". Also eliminates the problem of client's having static IP's, since it doesn't matter so long as yours resolves. 2. Becau

Hey, I hope this helps you but what I found as a viable solution is to use ssh which uses port 22. Most companies allow ssh connection through firewalls. Make a ssh connection and set it up to port forward say localhost to remote machine:5900. You will have to make sure the server is running o

Robert, We're working on Solaris x86 builds but they won't be available for a while yet. Building VNC Free Edition from source on Solaris x86 is fairly painless until you get to the stage of building the X server, so you may wish to try that if you're in a hurry! Cheers, Wez @ RealVNC Ltd. >

Mark, The "bad" log indicates that VNC Viewer is seeing the connection close and is then exiting. The only obvious difference between the two logs is that the second session involves a change to the clipboard, which will result in data being transmitted to the server if the clipboard contents are

Thanks Wez, Logs from VNCviewer don't to indicate (to me) anything untoward. I tested as follows: (1) open SSH/VNC session and close it before the screen freeze (ie a 'good' session) (2) open SSH/VNC session, minimize it, wait for 10-15 minutes, unminimize to freeze the session (ie a 'bad' sessio
