This goes back to my earlier question on a different thread
To what extent is the industry using Successful Session Setup (SRD)
Failed Session Setup SRD as specified in IETF RFC 6076 , as a precisely
defined SIP equivalent of PDD?
Are there any deficiencies in SRD that make it not

Please forgive me for lowering the tone of the conversation, but if you are
not getting what you need from the open source community, dare I mention a
commercial product?
Palladion/OCOM’s message flow diagram can be downloaded in HTML format, and
that provides you with the raw SIP messages
Hi Alex
It is raw packet capture [e.g. SIP, ENUM etc RTP and RTCP] from a tap such as a
span sport/port mirroring. Totally vendor independent standalone system,
software only, runs on Debian Linux. Also can act as a VQ Collector to collect
out-of-band RTCP-XR

May I try to understand your circumstances a bit more?
1. Are you measuring only narrowband calls e.g. G.729 or g.711 codecs (or
even circuit switched only calls) – wideband calls (>3.5kHz) we should ensure
the POLQA scale is being used
2. Are
It all depends on where the problem is being introduced. If the speech quality
impairment is associated with the endpoint itself or any part of their headset
gear, cabling etc. then monitoring on the IP packet network will not analyze
this. With a monitoring system, you might be able to

Hi Ross
So in your original email you were wondering about the role of MTP, the layer 3
protocol. This keeps tabs on the point codes. If you are troubleshooting down
to the SS7 messages (MSU’s), SLTM’s & SLTA’s tell you what point codes those
links are reaching.

You either need to monitor the segment of the network surrounding the packet loss to isolate it2. or you could use an active tool such as our VPP to make PESQ measurement to call from endPoint into your net work, and proven end to end exactly where & where the problem is happening.Sent from my
