Re: [VoiceOps] Landline SMS

2015-03-26 Thread Mr. NPP
we use nexmo.com, they can port the sms portion of a number over to get
text messages (as i think most providers can do) you can either use their
API, or use something like http://www.kannel.org/

Has anyone tried using Twilio for Godaddy 2Step authentications?

For some odd reason GoDaddy sends its sms differently and it doesn't work
with Twilio or Google Voice SMS.

How do you display an SMS message on a POTS phone? Some kind of
 text-to-speech application?

How do you originate one? DTMF multiple button press a la older
 cellphones?

Most VoIP numbers cannot accept SMS messages from short codes. GoDaddy may
be sending them from a short code, which ensures that you are using a
mobile. Sucks.

Their web site is horribly low on useful information, but it seems to imply
that they are an automated SMS reply engine and not really an SMS
platform. Have you used it in the context of an ITSP just passing messages
through to a voice server to deliver to customers?
