Hi all,
Looking for an AirPort base station for work, to link 2 laptops (one
with an airport card, one without). I don't need big bandwidth so don't
want to buy the new Extreme. Anyone have one spare or looking to
upgrade an older one? If so please contact me off list. Cheers,
David
Hi Geoffrey,
My kids go to PLC and their laptops are issued from Year 5 (age 9)
onwards, to all students. Homework time is kids tapping away in the
kitchen doing iMovie presentations etc. The little darlings are forever
showing me how to do things, no Dad, you change the icons like -

For the record Gordo, PLC isn't a Catholic school and I very much doubt
applicants for this job are going to be asked about horizontal
folkdancing.

Try copying it in smaller chunks and seeing if it's hanging on a

Hi muggers
I think Apple got some pretty good advertising in the above film...a
new 15 powerbook sitting on the desk in many scenes of the movie. If
you want to see a really enjoyable film, have a look at this one...it
is really funny.

Most of the schools are pretty realistic about it, still it's worth asking
what they mean by it during an interview.

It is 7 months old and In perfect condition.
In fact it is still under warranty.
Why carry a phone and a Palm when this can do both?
It runs Palm OS, it synchs with my OSX Mac.
It synchs contacts, calendar events, Email

With OSX 10.3.2 I rarely restart or shut down my G4/400, it is just put
into deep sleep at the end of the day. I notice that, with the passage
of time, my free disk space reduces steadily, over and above my newly
saved work, at the rate of about 1Gb for 5 days. Cache cleaning and

Have you calibrated the battery post-battery update?
Pre-battery update my iBook 700MHz was giving 4hrs 30mins to 5hrs
30mins battery life. After the update this dropped to about 3 hours. I
hosed the hard drive, reinstalled all the software (including Battery
