Hi all. I am getting what seems to be a novel and somewhat intriguing
form of spam through my .mac account. The messages have no address,
no subject and no content in the body of the message. Viewing with

The following is typical of what I am

Hi,
My set top box has died so I put the 250 HDD out of it into a Lacie box.
It mounts OK on my iMac (OS 10.5.6).
There are 195 files on it alternatively titled .INF, .PVR
e.g.
0ABC2000.INF
0ABC2000.PVR
0ABC2001.INF
0ABC2001.PVR
0ABCA001.INF
..etc
And one 32 KB file called
Evening,
Due to the release schedules for most ICT it may take a few weeks before it
gets to our shores. If you check most suppliers in a week or two you should be
able to order them. Check eBay as prices seem to be quite good. :)
Thanks,

Evening,
Are you using virtualisation or boot-camp?
Provided you have the drivers it should be identical to using a 'normal'
computer (As described in places.. :)). Can you access the HTTP interface of
the printer or ping it?
Cheers

Rereading your questions I see I didn't fully answer. I trashed
com.apple.mail.plist and it was replaced without affecting the situation.

Hi Rhonda
Thanks for the suggestions. I quit Mail then found and moved the two

My problem is that the Mail window has somehow been minimised without its icon

Hello Gerald,
You can browse for a printer being shared from a Microsoft Windows-
based PC but may not be able to print to it.
Adjust the shared printer's name so that it is less than 15 characters
long.

So at a guess this may be a type of CD/DVD for which 10.5.6 does not
provide a driver .
Mactracker shows only 1 Superdrive on Original Mac , the second would
therefor be an add on .
You will need to open the case and establish
Hi David

Hi Gerry,
Now that you mention Parallels - this rings a bell!
I seem to remember I was printing OK from Parallels (but I use it
infrequently) - then it stopped working - probably after upgrading either
OSX or Parallels - I don't really remember.
At the time, I did a lot of Googling and found
Hi Gerald,
In your original email to WAMUG you said you were: MacBook with
system 10.5.6 Trying to use windows printing on a windows network.
So we naturally all thought you were accessing a Windows Network in
OSX 10.5.6, that's why I sent the support link relating to 'Windows-
