i'm wondering if you have a broken power cord for the screen light.. the screen should go dark only when you turn down the brightness or just before the lid is completely closed your crc idea..well you may do that just before you bin the macbook, crc is a very good way to kill

Thanks James I have located an invertor which is the official name for the bit that controls the on/ off when the screen is opened and will pull the computer apart and check for wires and the like and install the invertor. Found a good manual off the web so should be no problem doing

I have used an M-Audio eKeys 49 purchased several years ago. I would guess that the KeyStudio is a newer version of this. The unit has been used in a school situation where it has been hammered by the students. Except for a broken switch it has behaved well. It interfaces transparently
