Hi James
You should be able to do that just using the built in tools with the
OS. Once you pair your phone using bluetooth you will be able to
browse your phone and download files from it?
I believe that was the same with 10.4.11 but no longer have that
version to check.

My suggestion is DO NOT USE A WIRELESS ROUTER UNLESS YOU HAVE NO
CHOICE !!

At work we have had to revert back to OS 10.5.6 so that we could send
faxes via the internal modem as there was a bug with 10.5.7. Has this
been fixed with 10.6?

I have had similar problems with an Apple USB external modem on
10.5.8. It dials correctly then can go no further in the process. I
have another workaround by using my wife's 10.4 G3 computer but would
like to crack this one.

Jon, use WPA2 security settings on your Airport Extreme. Use a strong
password (8 characters or more, no dictionary words and use
numbers/punctuation). You'll be fine then.
WEP security has known vulnerabilities, so if you happen to be using
it and someone wants to put the time in to downloading

They are music files delted from iTunes.

Evening Stephen,
I would complete a restart and then when in Finder, choose the Finder
contextual menu and select Secure Empty Trash.
This should remove your file. If not see if the file is locked
(indicated via a lock symbol on the icon). Get Info on the file to
remove the Lock.
I'm trying to convince a friend of mine to stay with Apple's Mail as a
mail client, however there are two problems with Mail in his eyes.
One is bullet points which don't seem to appear as bullet points at
the recipient end (I've experienced that as well).
The other is the absence of a

Could you clarify what the bullet point issue is?
Ignore maybe my ignorance, but why do you require a ruler to create an
e-mail message? Since it is a dynamic layout system it will 90% of the
time look different on other computers anyway?

Good questions!
The bullet point issue might be solved. When this friend of mine

That will be great if the bullet point issue is fixes!
I'd be interested to hear why he does need a ruler, I'm sure there is
one!

hey Blitto,
How far do you get in booting from the DVD, flashing question mark or
do you get further into the boot sequence?
there's a bunch of things to try when this happens.
1. PRAM zap - hold down option-apple-P-R simultaneously (think that's

Stuart,
Are you saying there is NO Home/Library/Spelling LocalDictionary in

There has to be in Home/Library/Spelling and in the Spelling directory
will be a file (possibly just one), one for each language you use.
If you speak English, the name of the file will be en?

There won't be a file in that location until you create a new word!1
I just did a check and there is no file or folder. So I created a new

created.
hope that helps a little.

Hi Ronni, there are two Home/Library/Spelling files on my laptop. The
'local dictionary' is in my user directory library under spelling, not
in the main HD library spelling directory. Could that be why Stuart
couldn't find it.
Anyway, its on my machine and should be on Stuart's.

Yes, you need to have added words to Dictionary.
