My external DVD burner is about to get the sack so I thought I'd check
with the group
to see if there a preferred model to hook up to my 24 iMac 3 Ghz, OS
10.5.7
Perhaps one that lasts a bit longer than the couple of years I got out
of this one a Pioneer DVR-111D.

I have been using a Lacie d2 DVDRW DL Drive (Firewire) for some years
now and have not had any problems. Not sure if this particular model
is still available, but it has a very sturdy all metal casing, and the
mechanism is working as it should. Must add that I have burnt hundreds
of CDs
