Cable prices can be quite bogas really.
A year or so back I wanted an RCA-style digital coax cable, so I went
into Retravision determined to pay whatever they wanted and the
young'n there said 'nah you don't need that, Audio RCA works for me at
home' I asked if he knew they were wired
Hi, actually Daniel has a few on order, so I will get it for $10 through him.
But it's an interesting story. And we do need to know products when we go
shopping for electrical stuff, I think I almost annoy people when I've done my
homework and don't need them to tell me what a device can do!
yes you do need to know what you want, only a small number of shop
assistants know what they are talking about know what's in
store..

Does anyone know if expensive HDMI cables are any better? I was
looking at a hundred-buck DVD player in Hardly Normal and the bloke
offered to throw in a cable at a knock-down $99. Well-trained in
gouging if nothing else.
Having said that, the 5 buck ebay one doesn't make a brilliant

Hi Susan,
I purchased the $9.95 1.8m HDMI cable from Jacar for my new MacMini
and it's working fine, sound and all.

Lol,..I just had a look at that link for the cable as well, as it's a great
price (and below most wholelsalers cost).
And then found, you'd want to order something else with the cable as well.
If you try and order the cable by itself (at $9.95) it doesn't fall into
it's $10-$99.99 fright
Very true, us country folk always have to consider postage costs for these
things.
Perth folk can always just walk into one of Jaycars 4 WA stores:

And I do see that Jaycar list 10 Authorised stockists around
Hi Daniel, I replied to you last post, then read this one. Never mind. I will
probably get one locally for convenience rather than worry about the very best
price. Regards, Susan

Yea, this look ideal, I will buy one locally when they are in the stores -
Buying from the Apple store means I have to be around to take a delivery, which
can be very inconvenient.
