G'day Neil. Thanks for that tip. You weren't alone. I didn't know that trick and, like you, I organise into many and various folders, sub-folders, etc. Just followed your help and hey presto, there it was. Like your good self, I'm still happily using Snow Leopard. Now I just have to remember

Stuart, I am on Snow Leopard myself so, yes, it is a Snow Leopard feature: Pick a file you have open and save as in the save as dialogue box that opens there is a search box (with the magnifying glass icon in it) in the top right corner - start typing in this box and it becomes a spotlight type
