Yes, I removed all the tapes and the orange protective cap leaving just the
Print Head, turned on the printer and inserted the Print Head into its carriage
- (although the Head itself has a white part at the bottom _ I did not attempt
or think to remove this as

I require some help or advise.
Have just purchased a Canon PIXMA MP990 all-in-one printer.
Took it out of the box and tried to put the Print Header in the Print Header
Holder.
Raised the Print Head Lock Lever and inserted the Print Head into the Print
Head Holder.
Pushed it in until
you did not mention the removal of 1 or 2 tapes which normally cover
the head air hole to prevent dryout during transport..
there should be a leaflet included that depicts the loading of the
cartridges
are you sure color is where the color should be?

Hi Joe,
Sounds like you don't have the Print Head positioned correctly.
You need to tilt the Print head to get it to fit in its slot.
1. The printer must be turned on, raise the Print Head Lock Lever until it
stops. (The Print Head Lock Lever may feel heavy.)
If the Print Head Holder does not
