This may or may not be helpful, but I had a 20 iMac G5 of a similar vintage. The capacitors on the motherboard bulged, and the machine failed. This is obvious when checking them. They should be flat across the top, not bulging and certainly not leaking. If this is the problem, then the 'offlist
