I have had two major problems with the iMac G5 I recently purchased.
First, 3 weeks after buying, Apple announced new specs - faster
processor, faster graphics, faster dual layer dvd burner, more standard
memory, bigger hard drive, airport extreme and bluetooth 2 as standard.
All this at a cheaper price.
Second, I still haven't received my up-to-date version of Tiger. After
much hassling it's supposed to be coming - but so is Longhorn. Apple
cashed my money order a full week before Tiger was released - not very
speedy service.
Apart from that, my iMac functions perfectly.
Cheers,
Mike

I am seriously considering buying a new super drive iMac G5 17".
However it is disconcerting to read so many reports of the original
iMacs G5 being effected by faulty midplanes and power supplies. Does
anybody know whether these defects have been rectified in the latest
machines?
Thanks.
