Kev , This link goes to a site that explains the numbering on some chips. Your chip might have some indication in addition to what you have sent ... maker name in particular. Part of that code may represent the maker but I do not recognise it . Bob

I have purchased 512mb of SD ram 168 pin to fit in a 1 ghz eMac. The Ram doesn't show up in the eMac, but does offer 256mb when slotted into a few other G3s. The supplier suggests that I upgrade the bios Is upgrading the bios a Mac thing or just for PCs? Thanks for any info, Kev -- T
