I have a network iTunes library based on iTunes on the server.
I can delete playlist from the sever iTunes but can't work out how to import
CD's to the server iTunes library.
Have tried several things but no luck.
Can some help?

zoom/enlarge my whole screen.

Depended on how you have your Accessibility options configured one way to zoom
the whole screen is to hold down the Control key and slide two fingers up or
down the track pad.

further investigation found that the keyboard strokes option-cmd-8 was what I
wanted.

Peter, you have given me much to try but Ronni's suggestion worked for
what I want. I am still coming to terms with Lion. It does things in a
different way, in the previous OS it was just a case of drag and drop into the
Sidebar. Now drag drop works
