You knew “The Exercise” took too much out of me last year, and someone, (I
thought it might have been you) suggested I take it OUT of this year’s New

Everyone knows I break all my New Year’s Resolutions on
Hi
Thanks Ronni for the links to new smaller iPhone release.
Anybody got a crystal ball, or heard any good quality rumours, in regard to
when Apple will be releasing updated/new MacBook Pros?
Take Care

Hi Maureen,
No one knows when and if they did they aren't at liberty to let anyone know ;-)
For what it is worth:
Product MacBook Pro
Recommendation: Don't Buy - Updates soon *
Notes * The 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro received a new build-to-order
option for a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Hi Maureen
And just to add to Ronni's post...
Given that according to rumours the next chipset to go in the MacBookPro is
possibly meant to be the Intel dual-core Sandy Bridge processors and that
Intel have been delayed with it due to some issues, that has put their
production a bit behind.
It intrigues me that for a company the size of Apple, with affiliates all over
the place that the are so often rumours, hunches, guesses and indeed a whole
raft of people trying to guess what's next - and no one leaks!!
There must be some might strong glue holding all these secrets in place.
Hi Guys
I have recently read on a couple of sites that because of the
'expected' release of the new MacBook Pros, there was a shortage of
the current models for sale.
Is this actually the case as I am thinking of upgrading my machine. I
understand that the i7 models are very nice and
Hi Chris (and others)
From Macrumours today:-

Much has been made of Intel's issues with a design error on its new Cougar
Point chip used with its Sandy Bridge processors and whether the company's
need to produce revised hardware will delay a highly-anticipated refresh of
Apple's MacBook
Hi Chris,
Here is the latest wisdom / rumour from AppleInsider. The error they are
talking about is, of course, the defect in Intel's Sandy Bridge line of chips.
The error affected both desktop and mobile chips, leading to concerns that
the issue could have an impact on Apple's anticipated
Hi Daniel,
We posted almost simultaneously on the same subject. Your post is more
informative so you can safely ignore mine. :-). I also see that you too enjoy
AppleInsider. I look forward to my morning fix of the latest news. Morning,

Thanks Carlo,..yes it's one of the sites I glance over, with MacRumors,

I was being greedy and wanted the real Apple Crystal Ball. But I suppose
that would be like getting the lotto numbers before the
AppleInsider while not a

Or if they repeat something often enough from different sources, people

That's the other thing Ronni. Sometimes the so called rumours are meant to
be placed there.
Gotta love all the conspiracy theories that goes with it.
I remember reading somewhere about how Apple control some of the rumours
of things coming as its placed there to see which supplier or distributor
Hey guys.
I need a cheap iMac 21.5in base model desperately! Where can I get a really

It happens with cameras as well. There are the rumours well in advance of
the product, lots of wishing for things. Then there are the rumours closer
to the release date. With Nikon pro and semi pro cameras, these tend to be
fairly accurate, so we actually have all the specifications ahead of
Oh yes Daniel, what you have said below is all very true, and Apple have also
been known to feed the Media ‘Mis-Information’.
Apple has the right to keep product development plans secret. They also have
the right to require employees and third-party developers to sign NDAs agreeing
not to
I agree that Apple has, ever since its founding, used secrecy as a marketing
tool. That is what makes Apple events so exciting, and the best covered product
announcement forum of not just the computing industry, but probably of any
industry. The magic of a Steve Jobs presentation, is in part
Thanks so much everyone for a really informative look at the Apple and
the new MacBook Pros.
I just had a look at Apple Australia website and they seem to have all
models still available 'to ship in 24 hrs'. I guess if I were to
customise a machine with a faster drive and processor it
Hi Carlo
Yes, completely agree.
Like you say, it doesn't take much sometimes for people to work things. The
flash drives was a large one, as you mentioned. I remember reading once that
no one else could get a good market of a particular one has someone had
bought them all and supply was dried
Agreed, Mike at MacWorx Joondalup (93015333) had some older model 20
Aluminium iMac for sale at good prices. (and pretty good specs too)
To be honest, you won't get a massive saving on a new 21.5 iMac. There
really is not that much in computers anymore. What the shops get to make on
them (after
Hi Chris
Most CTO (Configure to Order) do take a little longer for it to shop. I'd
certainly go the faster drive and more memory if you can budget it. Not sure

Good morning all,
In iPhoto 11 there does not seem to be a way of dropping a Pin as you could in
the earlier version. I have been finding that if it doesn't come up when you
type in the assign a place field and you can interfere with other places
already assigned. Have I missed something
Hi Daniel,
It was a pleasant diversion reading your reverie/brain dump. I'm not too sure,
however, that the other Woolworths customers were as thrilled that I partially
blocked an isle of the fruit section for 5 minute. :-) Such is the change in my
data consumption habits enabled by Apple.
Oops,...apologies to the Woolworths customers then. Don't mean to hold
people up,...
At least you went to the other Fruit logo place. Were you getting Apples
in the fruit section? Hehehe :o)
OK,..I'll finish there,..lol.
Kind regards
Daniel

I invite your comment to see if my powered USB hub experience is common or

Hi Chris,
I agree with Daniel, go the faster 500GB ATA Drive @ 7200rpm and extra memory.
My 17 MacBook Pro Intel Core i7 2.66GHz with 8GB Memory 500GB Serial ATA
Drive @ 7200rpm is super fast ;-)
My CTO order of my MBP back in April 2010 was pretty fast, took nine (9) days

I presume the google ad programs have been discussed on line but I have been

I shut down the Mac and after it restarted Disk Utility was able to repair the

I now have my Woolworths Apples, and even some bananas that I have hidden in my
