Hi Severin, Mountain Lion is all about integration with iCloud - iOS and all devices. You sign into OS X Mountain Lion using your Apple ID, which then triggers iCloud, iTunes, the Mac App Store and FaceTime to set up automatically. If you do not have an iCloud account, you can set one up.

Many thanks Ronni. Now that iCal is happy it is probably best to go with the flow and leave it as is. Who knows, I may go out tomorrow and buy an iPhone and an iPad and then I will be glad of the setup! On second thoughts, it is forecast wet with possible hail here tomorrow so I may stay
