Re: iPad No Internet Connection

Ok thanks Diana,
I don’t suspect anything is wrong will your iPad, I would suspect it is your
BoB2 Wi-Fi Network.
What did you mean when you mentioned
> Also I tried selecting our other network on BoB2,?
Do you have two Wi-Fi networks?
If so please give details.

However I have solved the problem. Apart from the iPad (which remained
“off the air” when all the other devices were connected) our contact with
the Internet has been very flaky this morning, keeps dropping out and
 restarting automatically.

The BoB2 indicated all systems were OK but a reboot put everything back,
this time including the iPad. I am at a loss to explain why it resisted
all previous efforts to get it connected. I think the BoB2 may be on the
way out, failure to connect is getting an everyday occurrence. We are
supposed to get the NBN very soon so I don’t want to buy a new modem at
 this stage.

Re: iPad No Internet Connection

2018-07-04 Thread Diana & Graham Stevens
Hi John

That’s not the problem. I swapped all our phones to iiNet (our ISP for ca 22
years) and in the process got the our system NBN ready including selecting a
plan. Just waiting for them to get their act together. To save money we
cancelled our second landline and transferred the modem to the phone line which
gives only half the download speed. Maybe it’s the copper that’s at fault. Hope
they use the other one for the NBN!

Hi Ronni
Yes it’s been on Auto-Join since the beginning and I just checked to make sure
it hadn’t changed.

Also I tried selecting our other network on BoB2, put in the password and got
the same error message. No pause while it thought about it, the error message
appeared straight away.

Re: iPad No Internet Connection

Hi Diana,
On your iPad, is Wi-Fi turned ON in Settings > Wi-Fi and Auto-Join?

Your iPad, can remember network and login information so that you can
automatically reconnect to that network when you're in range.
If your device doesn't automatically join a captive Wi-Fi network, follow these
steps:
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
Tap next to the network name.
Make sure that Auto-Join is on.

Hi Diana,
It is quite possibly your provider giving you a little nudge to make
the changeover to NBN. We had a similar problem with our internet dropping in
and out quite regularly once the NBN became available in our area.
Made the changeover and all is back to normal with an improved performance.
Have not had a dropout since.

Re: iPad No Internet Connection

2018-07-04 Thread Diana & Graham Stevens
Hi again

I am still rather concerned about the iPad, it wasn’t just disconnected, it did
not appear to be trying to connect, either before or after the restart nor the
reset of the Network Settings. There was no Ikon in the toolbar. Also I never
saw the “No Internet Connection“ error message before. Can anyone explain why
it wasn’t trying to connect?

Rebooting the modem fixed the problem, I did not have to do anything apart from
waking it up. The iPad is 10 months old, if there is something wrong with it
I’d like to get it fixed pronto!

I’ve edited the message, hope I left the relevant bits.

Hi Peter

Yes I reset the Network settings, put the password in again. I also tried our
other network (we use the Time Machine but the BoB2 modem network is also
available) same result. Apple website had no other suggestions.

However I have solved the problem. Apart from the iPad (which remained “off the

I apologise for wasting everyone’s time.
