What I'd like to know is there any easy way to convert this to an MP3

Apple boss claims no complaints

2008-06-18 Thread pweaver
I've just read a SMH press report quoting a head honcho at Apple
Australia who claims he's never had an email complaining about price
disparity between Oz and the US: "I've been working for Apple since
2000 and I have never once - and I receive hundreds of emails a day
from customers - had one email [complaining] about our pricing."
http://www.smh.com.au/news/biztech/apple-says-the-price-is-right/2008/
06/19/1213770787249.html

It seems amazing that hundreds of customers a day are able to email
the 'senior vice-president for retail.' I never appreciated Apple's
chiefs were so accessible.

Thanks Ronda. I didn't know about that feature, but it didn't do the

Re: Malware??

2008-01-24 Thread pweaver
To purge history files in Safari simply go to the pull down menu name
History and click 'Clear history' at the bottom.

To purge cookies go to the pull down menu named 'Safari' and click
'Preferences...' Click the sub heading named 'Security'. Click the
box marked 'Show cookies.' Click the box marked 'Remove all.' You
will see there are three options for cookies. I leave mine at
'Accept all.'

While you are in 'Preferences' click open all the other sub-headings
and consider their options. Especially take a look at 'Autofill.'
View the contents of the three sections there by clicking 'Edit' and
consider deleting anything you are uncomfortable about.

There are two other useful functions you could consider in the
'safari' pull down menu: 'Block pop-up windows' and 'Empty cache.'

If you want to go the whole hog then also in the Safari pul down
menu is 'Reset Safari...' This opens a window which gives you the
option to clean out all the cupboards at once and start again.

Mighty Mouse scroll fix

2008-01-15 Thread pweaver
Yesterday my cordless Mighty Mouse stopped scrolling upwards. Down,
left and right was fine.

Some people have reported similar problems in the past but their
fixes seemed to be total replacement of the device or interior
exploration with makeshift tools. Uh oh!

I found a suggestion on Apple's website which suggested wiping the
small ball with a damp cloth. I'd already discovered a dry cloth
doesn't work.

Guess what, the fix was immediate.

Just thought I'd pass this simple cure on, in case others fear the
