Hi Peter,

Check in System Preferences Network Advanced Proxies if you have any
proxies slected, deselect them, Apply your changes, and try again. You MUST
apply the changes before they take effect.

In Safari preferences Security - do you have 'Block pop-up windows'
selected?
Not knowing what websites you are trying to log into but perhaps they use
pop-up windows.
In Security Preferences check 'Extensions' you might have something there that
is stopping you being able to log in.

Cheers,

Wow. Just WOW! They provide instructions for only Internet Explorer and
Netscape Navigator?? I note the revision date on this helpful page is set at
2006. Given this degree of attention to detail, it's highly likely that the
code behind the site is just as dated, and is checking only for these browsers
and rejecting all others (just a guess, but it seems a likely possibility).

Do you have your Debug Menu turned on in Safari? If not, you can do this in
Safari 6 by going to Safari Preferences and clicking on Advanced. Click the
Checkbox at the bottom of the window labelled Show Develop menu in menu bar.
You will now have a new Menu item, Develop.

From the Develop menu, choose User Agent and select one of the Internet
Explorer versions (the earlier the better, unless the site coding is checking
specifically for version 6 or earlier since the menu choices only go back to
version 7). Note that Netscape Navigator is not even an available option,
having largely disappeared from the internet landscape when this web page was
written, but you could try one of its grand children in one the Firefox
versions.

Having selected Internet Explorer, try loading the page again. If everything
starts to work, then my theory is correct. If not - it's back to the drawing
board, sorry. Looks like Parallels running Windows XP might be the only way
forward...:-(

I've had similar problems caused by preference settings in Flash Player, using
Safari. Click-to-Flash may have similar needs. The required Flash Player
setting was Local Storage Settings to Allow sites to save information on
this computer. I was reluctant to do this, but I couldn't access the BankWest

Yes ,
First check in the drop down menu under Safari on the top line there
is a spot there to block pop up's

then go Safari - preferences - security
under web content you can check boxes toenable plugins , enable
Java , enable javascript , block pop up windows

also

Accept cookies always, never, only from sites I visit .

Set them to produce your result ... BUT

if you do not succeed with Safari you may have to try with Firefox

Good luck

Re: cookies

2003-12-30 Thread Mark Scholmann
James,

additionally to the info about what a cookie is... it is not usual that you
(the visitor) has to know anything about the cookie. I interpret their
statement as a statement telling you how they will record the Visa details
once you enter them. If this is so, then I am not sure why they would do
it that way and how safe it is ?
Normally the method would be to have an encrypted web-form that sends your
personal information directly to the server for processing, without
recording your Visa details anywhere (unless using a sophisticated user
account system, where you log in, etc) ?

Good luck,

Mark Scholmann
