traffic info.
To force Google Maps to use the off line saved version and not access 4g

I use Apple Maps around town, but when I travel - Google Maps is good. I can
download maps so I can use them when I am off-line, especially overseas. Plus I
can save places, restuarants, shops etc as favourites.

The short answer: Google Maps doesn’t use much mobile data at all when
navigating. In our experiments, it’s about 5 MB per hour of driving. Most of
Google Maps data use is incurred when initially searching for the destination
and charting a course (which you can do on Wi-Fi). There

But just wondered why you would not use Apple Maps that is on your iPhone by
default ?
A few months ago the Choice Consumer Group tests for Sat Navs gave Apple Maps
the highest points.
It beat all the regular brand Sat Navs.
