I've read where Andy was allowed a lot of input on the show's scripts. I
believe Beasley was the name of some relatives of his; I remember seeing lots
of them in the Mt. Airy phone book.

Well, I wonder if Andy Griffith didn't know someone named "Beasley" since he
used the name in the show a lot--just as he used lots of friends and place
