About the dog being in the driver's seat: whenever I take my four dogs for
walks (one at a time) they ALL get in the driver's seat. It's because they
all know that's where I'll be and they want to be as close to me as
possible. Somebody said dogs are love and I agree!
Hey - here is a thought Thelma Lou is really Count Ist Van Telecky? (Sp?)?
That would explain her disappearing act, and her reappearance. It would also
explain why or how?Barney helped get?all of those wishes answered (including
his own). It's because he was a close acquaintance of The
Thought of another anachronism: the horse drawn milk cart.? Of course that was
even presented as one.

***2. Aunt Bea Listening To Soap Operas On The Radio. Andy began on
3 October 1960, and the last radio soap opera, (Ma Perkins) left the air on 25
November 1960. ***
That's a pretty glaring one...the day the last four soap operas left the air
got a lot of publicity at the time, and they
Well, the Mayberry phone system may have been a little later than some
others in converting to dial, just like my hometown up in central Virginia.
When I
came to NC in 1963 I made a collect call to let my parents know I had made it
all right, so I picked up the phone and told the operator I
I know that there were still party lines in the 60s - my grandmother in
Virginia had one. You had to listen for your specific ring. When you made a
call you did not need seven digits.
Also - side shows like Colonel Harvey are all over the place - have you been to
New York City lately?

I don't suppose anybody happens to have a copy of Vigilante Force (1976)
starring Kris Kristofferson? The reason I'm interested in it is because it is
believed to be the last movie ever filmed at 40 Acres, the studio back lot
where TAGS was filmed. It does not appear to be availabe on DVD,
Hmm, I never thought of that. Thelma Lou bought the Old Remshaw place and
used the secret
passageways makes sense to me.
Trivia time! Who really lived in the Remshaw house? What I mean is, the same
house was used, in a different episode, as the home of one of the main
characters.
I learned a new word today by reading the digest! Anachronism.
Before I thought it was just a mistake, but now I know it was an Anachronism
when in the episode where Andy, Goober, Aunt Bea, and Opie go to the new car
show in Raleigh and they are standing out in front of the gas station
I too am an anachronism as I would love to be back in the time of the 50s
with its better values, etc. but then I'm not willing to give up all the
modern conveniences like AC, microwaves, DVD players, computers.LOL!
Not to argue, but I've found all thru my life that changes in small
I was watching Cheyenne this morning, and saw hudcaps lesh on the
show. She was a marticarch, and had 3 sons, and 1 daughter. She played
a pretty rough role, not unlike that of hudcaps lles on Andy G. The
date of the show was 1962. It was fun to see her there - quite a
change of martiarch
This weeks Mayberry podcast is out and we are now officially half a year
old with episode #26.
It's an interview I did with Russell Hiatt (the barber at Floyd's
Barbershop in Mt. Airy, NC.). I hope you enjoy it.

Mr. Schwump and I agree: Brad Cunningham must be right! Thelma Lou IS
