I don't suppose anybody happens to have a copy of "Vigilante Force" (1976)
starring Kris Kristofferson? The reason I'm interested in it is because it is
believed to be the last movie ever filmed at 40 Acres, the studio back lot
where TAGS was filmed. It does not appear to be availabe on DVD, but maybe it
was put on VHS at some point.
I have seen the 1975 film "Switchblade Sisters," which was also filmed there;
it is available on DVD. It's a horrible movie (probably even worse than "The
Monster from out of Town") but it's fascinating, and also sad, to see what
"Mayberry" looked like before the bulldozers razed everything just a few months
later. If you're interested you can get in from Netflix. I recommend skipping
ahead to the last half-hour or so, that's the only part that was filmed in
"Mayberry."
