Have you ever noticed when a major character is not written into a
storyline they are mysteriously missing from important events? I was
watching the episode The Barbershop Quartet and was wondering why Helen
wasn't with Aunt Bee and Opie watching Andy and quartet singing for the
championship. She
We're all excited here in Indianapolis 'cause the wonderful Jim Nabors will
be back again tomorrow to sing Back Home Again in Indiana at the
Indianapolis 500. There a nice story on Jim http://www.jimnabors.com/ 's
website about it. We sure missed him last year but are so thankful that
he's able
You will find a posting today by me that was intended as a personal email to
Allan. I inadvertently sent it to the digest. I apologize sincerely to Tom
Kessel and Marsha for their names appearing without their knowledge. I was

Last week I asked if any other person had been mentioned 5 times on Andy like
Earl Gilley without actually being on the Andy show. Well someone said Sarah
and Juanita. I contend that techinally both Sarah and Juanita appeared on the
show. When Andy spoke to Sarah, and Barney spoke to
Lately I've been wasting -- umm, I mean spending -- a lot of time playing a
silly Facebook game called Farm Town. I named my character Rafe Hollister,
since he's the most prominent farmer on The Show. I'd been playing for about
ten days, wondering if any of the other players would have a clue

How many times do we see people on TAGS in their bare feet?
Andy, Barney and their dates wading into the lake one night. A very funny
scene that never fails to make me smile.

Watched the episode with Jack Albertson as Aunt Bea's ...cousin? who was
really a con artist. Strange thing is, I just saw him on Gunsmoke a couple
days before playing the part of.a con artist!

Who has been barefoot in Mayberry?
What about the time that Andy, Barney, Thelmer Lou and u, was it
Peggy(?) went wading at the creek or the duck pond or somewheres? They were

I am assuming this was a matter of practicality. If a major character is not
written into an episode, why pay him/her for what is essentially a bit or
walk-on part?
There was the time that me and Andy and Barn and Thelma Lou went out to
Finnegan Flats - I think that's what it was called - and skipped rocks and
waded in the lake. Barney was a little shy at first about baring his feet in
front of me and Thelma Lou, but Andy told him both of us had brothers!
Janet,
So glad to hear that you can let your hair down with the family. I can too!
Enjoying my flippies as we speak!
As for bare feet: how about the one where Andy and Barney go to the lake/pond
with their dates and play in
the water. Of course, it was okay, as the girls have brothers...
I just got the June '09 issue of Our State: Down Home in North Carolina
magazine. Now for a displaced Tar Heel like me, it's purt' near good as the
National Geographic. Anyway one of the articles is titled, In Search of Bear:
Dismal Swamp State Park. According to the article, the park opened in
Remember Ange, Barn, Thel and Peggy wading in that lake? I think each one
