Although I don't remember seeing a cat, the episodes that mention cats that I
can think of right off hand are:
Opie the Birdman...where you hear a cat; In the episode where Andy goes to the
mountains to camp, he gets a phone call while on vacation at home to come
remove a lady's cat from
Was watching an episode of Murder She Wrote and Howard Morris appeared playing
Cousin Ziggy (who had a REAL SERIOUS) mother fixation.

My husband (who is a pilot and been fascinated by aircraft since he was a

The bench sitters that come to mind, besides the folks already mentioned, are

My all time favorite laugh is from High Noon in Mayberry, after Barney tries to
get Andy to go armed to rescue Fluffy from the Roof...Andy replies with a very
serious look at Barn That won't be necessary Barn, Me and Fluffy's been
friends for years.

Mr Cunningham ...you are absolutely right. Andy DID reveal the secret of her
cousin to Aunt Bee. I should check things out instead of relying on faulty

I have to say I agree with Janet (aka Thelma Lou). Its very hard, even after
spending hours under my bucket thinkin on it, to imagine or accept anyone but
the original cast in their roles. I doubt I would go to see the movie either if
it ever was done.

During the cave rescue, Barn had on civvies.
I THINK he had on a suit other than the ol salt and pepper in Raleigh when he
was working.
And of course, when he spent the night at the jail with Otis, he was wearing
his pjs and a robe.

Wonder if Frank Burns and Ernest T. Bass were related? An episode that aired

my cabbage twice. I didn't catch the credits in time (and just too darned hot

Didn't Barn and Thelma Lou often go Dutch?
But Barney was also practical...great gift of a septic tank to his folks (and
for us that live rurally...that isn't a bad idea !) and he could be
generous...remember he gave to Mr. Lesch's favorite charity when he bought the
machine from Mrs.
I have wondered about Aunt Bee leaving Opie alone too, and how she got there.
As for Barn, didn't he use the excuse of having to return Goober's car? (Which
brings up another question, what car did Goober have? I know he had the
truck...and what happened to Andy's truck that was in the
Otis was barefoot when he climbed down the ladder to escape Aunt Bee and The

Is it just me, but has anyone ever noticed that the room the town fixed up for

Wonder if that ticket from the sewar inspector was why Barn got his folks a new
